I recently these Barkin & Meowson Puppy Shampoo range, and I’m genuinely impressed! From the very first wash, I could tell it was formulated with puppies in mind. The shampoo has a light, pleasant scent that isn’t overpowering, and it left my puppies smelling fresh for daysWhat I love most is how gentle it is. My puppy has fairly sensitive skin, and this shampoo didn’t cause any dryness or irritation. The lather is soft and easy to rinse out, which makes bath time much quicker (and less chaotic!). After drying, my puppies coats felt incredibly soft, fluffy, and shiny.A little goes a long way, so the bottle should last quite a while. Overall, it’s a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a mild, effective shampoo that keeps their puppy clean, comfortable, and cuddly. Even those with sensitive skins.Highly recommend for new puppy parents! 🐶✨
While this isn't exactly cheap, the Barkin & Meowson no-rinse pet shampoo did a great job on my dogs' feet over the last month, and I've still got some left in the container. As I'm sure lots of folks with pets have noticed, it's been a very wet start to the year, and that means having to clean paws every time the dogs go outside to do their business. We've got some 'muddy mats' installed at our front and back doors, which definitely lessen the potential carnage on the odd occasion a dog will make it out of the kitchen before we've got to their feet, but they don't clean so much as they soak up, so we still need to use a microfibre cloth to get those paws clean.Using a cloth alone does a reasonable job, but I was honestly surprised to see how much dirt I was able to lift when using this shampoo - just a marble-sized amount is enough to get two paws done, and it's a clearly visible difference. While it doesn't have a neutral smell, there are no perfumes - it smells like what it is, and that's it - which is great for me. In the past I've come to associate previously pleasant smells with fox poo after our older dog went through a phase of rolling around in it - so not having any additional fragrances added is perfect. Not needing to rinse means it doesn't really take much extra time to get the dogs' feet cleaned; it's literally just the extra time needed to squirt a little onto the cloth, which the dogs definitely prefer as well - in the past we've tried the tubs with a sillicone insert and they've always hated having to get their feet wet if they can avoid it, to the point we abandoned it.I've not noticed any skin reactions or irritation after using for a month, and I don't expect to, but obviously that's something that's going to be different per pet. I'm comfortable using this with my dogs. One thing to look out for, is that it is possible to pull the top part of the bottle away from the main container - so be careful when opening!
We started using Barkin & Meowson MedExpert No Rinse Pet Cleansing Spray with Chlorhexidine Formula (150ml) with our teenage Golden Retriever when she began having the usual itchy teenage dog flare ups .. and it has genuinely been a good choice. She’s not the biggest fan of baths, so finding something effective without the stress of shower time has been a huge relief for both her and us.Why we love it:Vet recommended formula – That gave us confidence straight away, especially when dealing with irritated skin.No rinse convenience – Perfect for quick spot treatment after muddy walks or when she’s scratching. No wrestling her into the bath.Antibacterial protection – The chlorhexidine gives peace of mind that it’s helping control bacteria and prevent minor skin issues from escalating.Soothing and moisturising – The calendula and glycerine really seem to calm red patches and reduce dryness.Fragrance free & gentle – No overpowering smell, no irritation, and completely suitable for her sensitive skin.Easy liquid spray – Applies evenly and dries quickly without leaving her coat greasy or sticky.Free from parabens and sulphates – We’re very conscious about what goes on her skin, so this is a big plus. For a teenage Golden Retriever who loves rolling in everything but hates baths, this has been an absolute great product. Highly recommend for anyone dealing with mild irritation or wanting a gentle, effective in between wash solution.
Coming in a pump-action spray bottle (oddly without a lid, not sure if that's on purpose), this is an antimicrobial spray containing chlorhexidine, for pets. It is odourless and sprays as a clear liquid. I tested it on my chapped hands before putting it on the dog, and it doesn't sting at all, so I was confident it wouldn't sting my dog. Obviously products such as this are not intended for any big injuries but I have used it on little grazes on my dog from her being scratched by bushes, and they stayed clean and uninfected and healed fast, so I believe it works. The bottle size is 150ml so there's plenty in it while it's small enough to fit in a bag, without it being so large that the expiry date would be a concern.Effective and non-irritant product.
We have two small dogs who hate being bathed, and they also both have mildly sensitive skin. They’re not the type of dogs who love mud so quite often they don’t need a bath but a freshen up is nice. I’ve used Barker & Meowson products before and have always been pleased with them. I appreciate the fact but that there doesn’t seem to be a lot of unnecessary additives in them. The dogs may hate baths but they love any attention they get! So apart from spraying this onto them, which they found a bit disconcerting, once I started to massage it into their coats they were quite happy. It dried quite quickly and after a good brush they looked adorable. Their coats were smooth and shiny and much easier to brush. For us it’s proved to be a very good alternative to regular baths which caused them a lot of distress. I’d recommend it.
